Grassroots leagues run on somebody's goodwill and somebody else's money — the kedai kopi that pays for the trophy, the sports shop that throws in the kit. The willingness was never the hard part. Finding each other was, and so was having any record afterwards of what was actually agreed, which on a phone usually means a chat thread nobody can produce later. This is a front door for a company and a written record for both sides.
A company asks to back a league, the organizer answers, and the whole conversation stays in one thread. Score Captain never handles the money.
How to play it
- 1Open a league's page and tap Sponsor this league.
- 2Say what you're offering — cash, kit, a venue or product — and roughly what it's worth.
- 3The organizer gets an alert and answers you here. Every reply is emailed to the other side too.
- 4Agree the terms between yourselves. The organizer then puts your name on the league page.
Worth knowing
- Score Captain never handles sponsorship money. Nobody legitimate asks a league to pay a fee to receive sponsorship, and nobody legitimate will ever ask for your OTP or TAC.
- Only a VERIFIED league can be sponsored, and you need a verified account to ask — a guest can't. That's how the organizer knows who is writing.
- One open conversation per league. If it gets closed, you can come back to that league in 30 days.
- Three new enquiries a day. This is for leagues you actually want to back, not a mailshot.
- This conversation is recorded and can't be edited or deleted by either side.
- The organizer can keep a private note on a thread. Only they and their mods can see it — the company never can.
- Either side can stop it: the organizer closes, the company withdraws. Only the league can reopen. An organizer can also block a sender, and undo that in Manage league.
- We mark any message that asks YOU to pay a fee or hand over bank details, an IC or an OTP. Someone moving the chat to WhatsApp is only noted, not blocked — it's normal here, but nothing agreed there is on the record.
- Register your business and your link and logo show on the league's public page, and your links work in the email. Send your business registration only — never an IC, a passport or a bank statement. We delete it the moment we've looked.
- A league can show up to four sponsors.
