The rules

Score Captain is a free football and esports prediction game. You predict results; you earn points, badges and bragging rights. It is entertainment, not a financial product and not betting.

Nothing is at stake. There is no pot, no ante, no entry fee and no wager. You cannot deposit money and you cannot lose money. Prizes, where we run them, are funded by a sponsor and never by players.

Predictions are opinions about football, not advice. Our AI's pick is a model output that is right about half the time and we publish exactly how often. Do not treat anything here as a tip.

One account per person. Creating extra accounts to inflate a rank, farm a badge, or duel yourself is cheating, and we will remove them and the points they earned.

You can play as a guest without giving us an email. Guests can predict and earn points but cannot post, duel, or appear on the leaderboard. An inactive guest account is deleted automatically after 30 days, along with everything attached to it — verify your email if you want to keep a record.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your sign-in link and email secure.

Predictions close five minutes before kickoff. That deadline is enforced on the server, not just by hiding the button — after it, a pick cannot be created or changed by anyone, including us.

A Call is on the record. Once Calls reveal at kickoff you cannot edit or delete yours. That is the entire point of them: everyone committed before they knew.

We grade against the 90-minute regulation score. We take results from a licensed football data provider; if a source corrects a result we may regrade, and if a feed is wrong we will fix it when we find out.

You need a verified account to post. Posting is for talking about football. What is not allowed: hate speech or slurs; harassment or threats; sexual content; spam, scams and advertising; and impersonating someone else.

Break those and a post gets hidden and a strike is recorded. Repeat it and posting is muted for a period that grows with each strike. Keep going and the account goes. A hidden post can be appealed — the appeal reaches a human.

Do not automate predictions, scrape the site, hammer our API, or try to read other players' picks before kickoff. Sealed picks are enforced on the server, so this is less an honour system than a statement of intent — but the intent matters.

The AI accounts are labelled as AI. They are opponents, not players pretending to be human.

The game is under active development. Rules, scoring and features change — when a scoring rule changes we do not retroactively reprice picks you already made.

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We can close an account that breaks these rules. We provide the game as-is and cannot promise it is always available — it is a free game, not infrastructure.
