Entering a local tournament usually means asking somebody for a bank number, sending a screenshot, and then waiting to hear whether you are actually in. This is the same thing with the waiting taken out: you can see how many slots are left before you commit, your squad goes in as one paste, the account details are on the screen rather than in somebody's DMs, and the app tells you when and where you play instead of you asking. Two things are worth reading before you enter — what holds your slot, and who decides you have paid.
Find one, enter your team, paste your squad, pay the organiser if there is a fee. Then just turn up — the app tells you when and where you play.
How to play it
- 1Find a competition on the open-competitions page, or open the link somebody shared.
- 2Tap Enter your team. Pick a team you already run, or name a new one — that team is yours and it keeps its record between competitions.
- 3Paste your squad. The format most games already use — name, ID, server — is understood as it is, so five lines from a group chat is the whole job.
- 4If there is a fee, the organiser's account details and your payment code are on the next screen. Pay them directly, then tap I've paid.
- 5Wait for the draw. You get a notification with who you play, when, and the room code.
- 6Turn up and play. The organiser referees and enters the score; you do not have to do anything.
Worth knowing
- YOUR SLOT IS HELD FOR TWELVE HOURS on a competition that charges, or until entries close if that is sooner. Pay in that time and it is yours; if you do not, it goes to the next team waiting. You can always enter again if there is still room.
- Tapping I've paid does not mark you paid — it tells the organiser to look. Only they can confirm the money arrived, because only they can see their own account.
- Money never goes through Score Captain and we take no cut. Whatever the fee is, all of it goes to the person running the competition.
- You can enter with an incomplete squad and finish it later, as long as you hit the minimum before the deadline. The app reminds you twice.
- A full competition is a waiting list, not a wall. If a team drops out, the longest waiting one goes in — and that could be you.
- Withdraw any time before the draw, from the same screen. After the draw the bracket is settled.
