How it works

Running a competition

Most local tournaments are run out of one person's phone, and the phone is the bottleneck. Somebody collects names in a group chat, retypes them into a spreadsheet, chases sixteen squads for their line-ups, chases the same sixteen for the entry fee, draws a bracket on paper, then spends the evening being asked who plays next and where. None of that is the interesting part of running a tournament, and all of it is the part that stops people running a second one. This is what the app takes off you, and what it deliberately leaves with you — the score, the money, and the judgement calls.

Open it, share the link, and teams enter themselves. You referee on the day — the app does the bracket, the reminders and the results.

How to play it

  1. 1Start a league from the Hub and pick Cup. Say how many teams, when entries close, and the fee if there is one.
  2. 2If you are charging, add the account it goes to. Teams see it the moment they enter, with a payment code to quote in the transfer.
  3. 3Share the link. Teams register themselves and paste their own squads — you type nothing.
  4. 4Tick teams off as their money lands. A team that says it has paid appears with Got it and Not yet.
  5. 5Draw the bracket when you are ready. Entries lock, the first ties open themselves, and everyone is told who they play.
  6. 6On the day, set each tie's room and kick-off — both squads get a notification — then open Ref Mode and keep the score.
  7. 7The final whistle grades the match, moves the ratings and pushes the winner into the next round on its own.
  8. 8When it is over, Run it again: same league, same members, same badge, a new competition.

Worth knowing

  • THE MONEY NEVER TOUCHES US. Teams pay you directly and we take no cut. All the app does is show them where to send it, hold their slot while it is on its way, and chase it.
  • A slot on a paid competition is held for twelve hours, or until entries close, whichever comes first. If nobody pays, it goes to the next team waiting — you do not have to judge anybody.
  • Only you referee. Teams never enter a score, and the referee record IS the result.
  • Nobody turned up? Walk the tie over. It advances a side and moves no ratings, and you can undo it until the next tie is played.
  • Your competition is listed on the open-competitions page once your league is verified. Until then the link still works and teams can still enter — verification only buys the listing.
  • A team with fewer players than your minimum, or one whose payment window ran out, is left out of the draw with an explanation. You are told how many before you draw.
